Our Week in Las Vegas

Day 1: Getting to Vegas
Our flight wasn’t too long, and I had the window seat so I was occupied most of the time. The only problem was that we had to get up very early to catch our flight. We also happened to book our first excursion, Grand Canyon South Rim Tour, on the same day we arrived. I don’t know what we were thinking! After getting up early to catch our flight and after spending hours on the plane, we explored the Grand Canyon. It was a truly beautiful place, but I was so busy looking for a place to sneak off and take a nap that I didn’t really appreciate it at the time. When our tour was over we finally checked in to our hotel, Planet Hollywood (also known as PH). We ordered room service and went to bed.

Day 2: Shopping and the Files Bergere Show
We woke up refreshed! We spend the day exploring the city in our rent-a-car and on foot. We went to the Miracle Mile Shops at our hotel and found some really great things to buy. That night we ordered dinner in our room again (we loved the room service) and got ready to go to the Filies Bergere Show. The singers, dancers, and acrobats were amazing! I highly recommend it!

Day 3: Let It Ride
Ok, so honestly, we really didn't think we were even going to gamble, but sure enough, all the sparkling lights caught our attention! It was only the third day of our trip, and we had spent most of the day at the pool. That night we saw the LaReve show. It was fabulous - the special effects were amazing! Anyway, we were heading back to our room when we decided to stop and play a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. Twenty seven dollars later, we heard the bells. WE HIT THE JACKPOT!!! We won......$143.81. Yeah - that's all. A woman in another casino apparently hit the jackpot 2 minutes before we did and claimed the big prize - $4.8 million. Apparently, all the machines are linked together, and when one person wins, the machines all over town reset themselves. Even though we were not millionaires, we were happy to have ended the night with more money than we started with. We decided to go to bed and get ready for our next big day.

Day 4: Relaxing
We spent the fourth day of our vacation by one of the pools at our hotel. It was a very relaxing day. We used our Vegas Power Pass to get a discount at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant (very romantic). After dinner we watched the fountains at the Bellagio.

Day 5: What Were We Thinking?
We had a really crazy day. We went on the Las Vegas Stratosphere Insanity Ride. I was a little scared, but my husband really wanted to do it, so I sucked up my fear and strapped myself in. I would only recommend this ride if you are not afraid of heights! That night we went to another show - LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. It celebrated The Beetles and was very entertaining, even though I was still a little woozy from the 'Insanity' Ride.

Day 6: Romance Package
On the sixth day of our vacation, we went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. We ordered the Romance Package. This included admission to the museum, as well as a gondala ride, and “The Pavarotti Special” at Zefferino’s or Tintoretto’s restaurant. We decided to try Zefferino’s because our hotel maid recommended it. We had a great meal and enjoyed spending a romantic dinner together on the last night of our vacation. We went for a walk on the strip before going back to the hotel, and decided to stop at a club. We met some very interesting people, and had a great time partying in Vegas!

Day 7: Going Home
We woke up around 11a.m. and realized that we hadn’t packed up yet! We quickly got dressed and packed up our things. We checked out of the hotel around noon, and put all of our luggage in the rent-a-car. We almost forgot about our $25 Buffet Casino Credit, so we had a quick buffet lunch and realized that we had time for one last activity. We went to Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. It was really beautiful! There were so many different kinds of marine life in the giant tank. We saw sharks, sea turtles, fish, and more. The 1.6 million gallon tank was impressive to say the least. After that we went to the airport and headed home. We really had a great time in Vegas, and are already planning our return trip! If you haven't been to Vegas yet, it is definitely a place you should experience- at least once!

That's the hotel I stayed at in your first picture (The Luxor). I too, enjoyed the Miracle Mile. We didn't do the wax museum last summer. We just checked out the ones they have out in the lobby... for free LOL! Sounds like you two had a fabulous and romantic stay. I can't believe you did the rides at the top of the Strat. I wouldn't even go to the window in the observation deck!

It sounds like a great vacation! Vegas has become the "new" place to go and I need to get there so I can have my own Vegas stories! :)
